Welcome to the very first year of the Kootenay Mushroom Festival, a fun and informative celebration of all things fungal! This year we are holding the festival in and around beautiful Kaslo BC and have a full day of events perfect for families, serious mycophiles, and newcomers alike! We begin with a morning walk in the woods guided by a select group of local experts, afterwards reconvening with a discussion of our finds and then breaking for lunch. In the afternoon, participants can choose from a variety of sessions, with everything on the table, from mushroom medicine to needle felting to growing your own mushrooms. This will be followed by an optional mushroom meal and social at the Bluebelle Bistro (details below).
