From its humble beginnings as a low budget 1960s film, Little Shop of Horrors has grown to be one of the longest running Off-Broadway shows of all time! Like the better known 1986 film, this musical follows the hapless Seymour Krelborn as he discovers a ‘strange and unusual plant’ and names it Audrey II after his crush and co-worker. Audrey II quickly turns Seymour’s life around; getting him the respect and admiration Seymour has so desperately yearned for. All too soon though, Audrey II develops a soulful voice and an unquenchable thirst that Seymour must submit to if he wants to realise his dreams. In the words of creator Howard Ashman “Little Shop of Horrors… plays with simplicity, honesty, and sweetness – [and] when Little Shop is at its most honest, it is also at its funniest and most enjoyable.”
