SONNY SAMUELSON BOBSLED RACE READY TO SLEIGH ORGANIZERS ENHANCE SAFETY MEASURES IN PREPARATION FOR THRILLING COMEBACK ROSSLAND, BC – The much-anticipated annual Sonny Samuelson Bobsled Race returns to the alpine city on Saturday, January 27th, at 9 a.m., promising an exhilarating day of speed, competition, and community spirit. After a four-year hiatus, this year's race is expected to be bigger and better than ever. While teams diligently prepare their sleds for the Rossland Winter Carnival event, organizers invite the community to be like Will Ferrell and bring “more cowbell” as they witness the spectacle securely from the sidelines. Olaus Jeldness would be amazed. He was the Norwegian miner who, way back in 1898, initiated Canada’s Oldest Winter Carnival. We are excited to announce the return of the Rossland Winter Carnival, to be held the weekend of January 25th to January 28th, 2024! Community and family-oriented activities will decorate this historical weekend, with lots of reasons and ways to celebrate!  Ice sculptures, snow slides, tobogganing, skating, local business specials, and more! Olaus would be astounded to see boarders and skiers flying through the air during Saturday’s fantastic “The Game” Rail Jam competition in downtown Rossland.
